Dr. Johnna Swartz

Dr. Swartz is the Principal Investigator of the Brain Development, Psychopathology, and Mental Health Lab.  She received a PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Duke University in the Laboratory of NeuroGenetics.  Her research interests include examining how biological and social influences shape adolescent brain development and identifying brain markers that predict risk for the future development of mood and anxiety disorders during adolescence.  The aim of this research is to inform our understanding of the neurodevelopmental processes contributing to risk or resilience for adolescent psychopathology.
